Garment Reconstruction & Sustainable Design
This project focuses on the reconstruction of existing garments through a design process centered on sustainability, craftsmanship, and material awareness. Rather than producing new textiles, the work challenges how existing clothing can be re-cut, refined, and reimagined into modern, functional pieces. Each garment is carefully deconstructed and rebuilt, with close attention to fabric behavior, structural integrity, and silhouette. The goal is to create pieces that feel intentional and elevated while extending the life cycle of materials that might otherwise be overlooked.
All construction is completed using a long-standing family sewing machine that has been in use for many years—bringing a sense of traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary design process. What began as a focused design study has grown into an ongoing creative process I genuinely enjoy—one that continues to challenge my approach to materials, construction, and sustainable design.
