Brand Identity & Food Photography
This project began as more than a branding exercise—it was an opportunity to honor my family's legacy through design. Inspired by my mother and the warmth of the Southern meals she has always shared, I developed a complete brand identity for a modern meat-and-three restaurant that celebrates comfort, community, and tradition.
The scope of work included brand strategy, logo development, visual identity, menu design, packaging concepts, environmental graphics, branded collateral, and food photography. The photography was art directed and captured to complement the identity system, emphasizing the warmth, quality, and hospitality that define the restaurant's experience.
The secondary logo features a hummingbird, a bird my grandmother always loved and one that became a personal symbol of her memory. Incorporating the hummingbird into the brand allowed me to weave a subtle piece of her legacy into the identity system, creating a mark that carries both visual significance and emotional meaning without overshadowing the restaurant's story.
In addition to developing the brand identity, I photographed each menu item to create a consistent visual style across the brand. My approach focused on clean composition, natural lighting, and subtle styling that showcased the food as honestly and appetizingly as possible. The final images were designed to support the restaurant's identity while providing versatile assets for menus, social media, advertising, and other marketing materials.
