Project Overview
The Halloween 5×5 is an annual filmmaking challenge built around a simple creative constraint: five shots, five seconds each.
For the third consecutive year, I participated in the project, collaborating with my brother and his partner to develop and produce an original short film.
Taking the project from concept to completion, I worked across writing, directing, cinematography, graphic design, and post-production. The production included late-night location scouting along secluded Tennessee backroads, with filming taking place around 3 AM.
The project brought together filmmaking, visual storytelling, and design to create a cohesive cinematic experience within a limited format.
Creative Direction & Production
My involvement spanned every stage of production, from initial concept development and scriptwriting through filming and final delivery. I led story development, shot planning, directing, casting, and location scouting, while also handling cinematography, camera operation, lighting design, and drone-based aerial filming. Beyond production, I managed the full post-production process, including video editing, color grading, audio editing, and sound development. My creative contributions also extended into brand development, where I designed a fictional rideshare identity, including its logo, slogan, and app. I also created behind-the-scenes photography and video content, along with social media content and promotional efforts to extend the project’s reach.
Behind the Scenes
A look beyond the finished film, documenting the collaboration, creative process, and production moments that brought the project together.
I created a collection of behind-the-scenes photography and video, capturing everything from location scouting and camera setups to on-set direction and the unexpected moments throughout production.
These materials offer a closer look at the work that takes place behind the camera.
Digital Content & Marketing
Alongside the film production, I created and promoted digital content to extend the project’s reach beyond the final film. This included producing and sharing the original video, behind-the-scenes content, and a bloopers video. Through content creation, editing, and social media promotion, the bloopers video surpassed 100,000 views, demonstrating the project’s ability to generate audience engagement beyond the film itself.
